Callaghan Ranch Texas Shoot-Out Javelina Hunt Feb. 7-10th, 2008 *Featuring Bubba and Chris Serving Food 8:00 A.M. Wednesday - 10:00 A.M. Sunday* Ranch will open on Wednesday February 6th for scouting and setting up camp.
The Texas Shoot-Out is a four day hunt, Thursday through Sunday, during which bow hunters have access to over 90,000 acres of south Texas brush country. Bow hunters may harvest 2 javelina, 1 mountain lion and 1 bobcat. Additionally, bow hunters may take as many feral hogs and other varmints as they wish. This is a bow hunt ONLY event. Crossbows may be used only by persons with written doctor's authorization (physical disability). Draw locks are NOT permitted at all. Rifles and handguns may not be used to take game and are not permitted on the ranch. Hunters must have a valid Texas hunting license and are expected to be familiar with all state hunting regulations. No accommodations are available for this hunt. Hunt parties will be provided with open pasture camp sites. These camp sites do not have electricity or running water. Travel trailers and generators are permitted in a restricted portion of the camp area. There are 3 outhouses and a few showers available for hunters to use near the Hunt Headquarters. A store will be in operation at the Hunt Headquarters where ice, corn, and other assorted items will be available for purchase. Potable water will also be available, be sure to bring a water jug. A vendor area will also be set up near the Hunt Headquarters where stands, hunting supplies and other related items may be purchased. For more information, contact: John Michel 4120 N.
